Kauai late night beach visit?

Hi all,

At some point in the not-too-distant future, I plan on going to Kauai. One of my favourite things to do when I'm on vacation by the shore is to grab a nice bottle of wine and well after sunset find a beach that's completely my own (which usually isn't hard to do at night) and sit in the dark, listening to the surf and watching the stars and moon reflect in the ocean.

Anyone know of any beaches on Kauai (preferably the east coast, but I'm not picky) where I could do this? Preferably somewhere where there's very likely to be no one else that late, where I'm not going to get busted by cops for having a drink or two in public, and where I won't get beat up for being a tourist.

Do cops often monitor the beaches late at night? Is there a big risk of violence as a tourist in Kauai?

Thanks for *any* help you can give me. I really appreciate it very much!
